Sportshall Associates Reviews / What Other People Say About Us
Great team event for small schools like ourselves (45 KS2 pupils). Due to our low numbers of boys in upper KS2 we needed to put some Year 3 boys in our team and it was great the way that it was still accessible to them, inspiring them for the future.
J Batten, Bisley Blue Coat School
Brilliant service from the team, great support throughout with questions from teams etc, Adam was brilliant as ever, so much great feedback from schools
James Jeffery, SGO Archway School
Sports Day was thoroughly enjoyed by pupils, staff and parents. Mike was fantastic! We could not have asked for a better service from the Sportshall Team. The variety of activities, both field and track, were great. Without Mike, we would not have been able to provide such an amazing morning! Thank you again.
Yasmin, Tedder C P School
All of the children had a wonderful time and it was such a great opportunity for them to compete against other teams. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your crew for such a fantastic, fun filled and informative day, all your hard work was very much appreciated.

It was a great event that the children loved. It was great for them to compete against the best athletes in the county. The organiser was really enthusiastic and the event ran really smoothly.

Well done and a very big thank you for yet another great afternoon of Sportshall Athletics is the only way in which I can summarise the comments from the Berkshire team. The “slickness”, “keeping to the timetable” and “general level of organisation” have been praised by everyone.
Conrad Rowland, Berkshire Team Manager
This was a real quality event, well organised, upbeat & fun. The students (Leaders and competitors) were all extremely well motivated throughout thanks to your banter & fun activities interspersed within the actual competition. Thanks so much
J Price, Anthony Gell School
I think we did brilliant especially in the field events. Everyone in our team tried really hard and lots of the team achieved their personal bests in events. I really enjoyed the vertical jump and found the 4 x 1 the hardest.
Thomas Christie, Year 6
I am absolutely delighted with the children’s performance today. I thought they could achieve as they have been working so hard with a particular focus on the field events.
Mrs Rowland, Teacher
This really was a fantastic event and I am extremely proud to have been able to host these Kent School Games finals here in Ashford. To see so many children competing with such enthusiasm and passion was a testament to the athletes themselves, their schools and the Kent School Games concept. It was also fabulous to welcome Kelly who is such a great role model for aspiring athletes in the county.

There was great team support throughout the whole day and the atmosphere inside was electric. …
We are already looking forward to next year’s event!

“This competition has been a great project for our new sports leadership group at Desborough to get their teeth into. It’s always a fun packed afternoon, and as it’s a team event every performance counts. All the children love being involved in the competition.”
Organiser Nick Bielby, Desborough’s School Sports Coordinator
“The Athletic Sportshall Challenge epitomises what the Games for Scotland programme has been designed to accomplish; inspiring, motivating and engendering pride amongst the people of South Ayrshire around Scotland’s hosting of the Commonwealth Games in 2014. Featuring a range of different athletic activities, the event provided people with the opportunity to sample a range of sports and discover the benefits of an active lifestyle”.

This year the SSP and Armada have embarked on a new partnership with UCP Marjon whereby students on a Sports Development and Coaching degree course have been trained in the UKA Academy Sportshall modules for event management and officiating by Lance Chatfield from the SSP and Keith Reed from Armada. The students have gained a host of new skills and have been given an introduction to the coaching, officiating and event management tools required to run a Sportshall event.
“It is proving to be a fantastic way of bringing together a very established event and training new prospective sports coaches, officials and administrators of the future in a very ‘hands on’ way. The other major benefit is that the schools will get access to expert coaching from UKA accredited coaches, thus improving the standard of performances and also linking more with the clubs. We are very grateful to UCP Marjon and, of course, Lance Chatfield from the Plymouth SSP who have devised such a unique partnership where everybody wins. We hope that this continue for years to come.”
Keith Reed, Armada Network Co-ordinator
