A fantastic day was had by all last Wednesday as we delivered our Primary & Secondary Sportshall Athletics Level 2 Finals for Darlington. This was just one of the many events our team have delivered in the past few weeks, ranging from the North East to the South West and everywhere in between!

In the morning we had Year 5 and 6 teams from Abbey, Mowden, St Teresa’s, Firthmoor, Holy Family, Reid Street, St Augustine’s and St Mary’s all competing. A brilliant atmosphere was flowing throughout the Sportshall in The Dolphin Centre.

Huge well done all teams, especially the top two Abbey and Reid Street who are now going through to represent Darlington in the Tees Valley finals on 13th January 2022.

Following the Year 5 and 6 Level 2 event, we then welcomed teams from Wyvern Academy, Haughton Academy, Hummersknott Academy, Polam Hall and Carmel College for our Level 2 Secondary School events. Each school brought a team for Year 7 Girls, Year 7 Boys, Year 8 Girls and Year 8 Boys. Competing for the chance to represent Darlington in the Tees Valley Finals, there was some great Sportshall Athletics on show!

Once again, well done to all teams and we look forward to welcoming the top two from each event at the Tees Valley Final.

Huge thank you to Aly Raw (Darlington School Games Organiser) and her team for all her support before, during and after the event. Our thanks also extends to the Young Leaders from Haughton Academy who were superb throughout, as well as our hosts in The Dolphin Centre for the use of their excellent facility.

It is fantastic for our team to be back on the road delivering these events to young athletes who have missed out for almost two years, we are hoping you are enjoying being back as much as we are.
