A Bumper week of Sportshall Regional Finals were held across Scotland from February 23rd – 28th. The week, delivered by the Sportshall Development team in Partnership with Scottish Athletics. During the week over 1000 budding young athletes & nearing 100 young sports leaders, coaches, development officers and volunteers were involved across 5 days of activity.
The first event of the week was held in Peterhead with 7 schools from across the Grampian region involved in what was a great competition won by Hazlehead with 264 points. As the week progressed the teams certainly got louder and louder with the closest competition coming in the last event of the week held at the Peak in Stirling on Friday split by only 22 points.
The week provided a fantastic culmination of the Sportshall Athletics Season which started at the beginning of the school year with schools, teachers and development teams organising and working hard to deliver the local rounds ahead of the regional finals. The success of the week is testimony to the excellent partnership between Sportshall Associates & Scottish Athletics delivering 5 top class Regional Finals in partnership with many local authorities, active schools coordinators and other local development teams, schools and teachers.
